We perform or provide:

• Examinations prior to LASIK surgery
• LASIK follow-up services
• Treatment of external eye diseases and glaucoma
• Minor surgical procedures such as foreign body removal
• We also fix eyeglasses!
Dr. Schwartz graduated from the University of California School of Optometry in 1979 and established a private practice in Grants Pass that very same year. In his over 40 years as an optometrist, he has helped thousand and thousand of local residents. Prior to becoming an optometrist, Dr. Schwartz and his family spent nine years in the San Francisco Bay area, while he completed his military service (Navy: Assigned to Naval Air Station, Alameda, CA worked as an aviation electrician on H-3 helicopters) and college.
Dr. Schwartz works full time, but when not working he enjoys traveling, home projects (including working on his 1979 Corvette). In 2005, he earned his pilot’s license and rents a Cessna 172 to fly around the area with family and friends. Dr. Schwartz is also very connected with his church, volunteering to assist in leadership and teaching. Finally, he volunteers time to the Oregon Optometric Physicians Association, the statewide organization that represents Oregon optometrists. He is currently serving as chair of the public relations committee of that organization.
With experienced personnel, plus traditional eye care methods and modern eye exam equipment, Michael Schwartz eye care has never been better. Our team takes the time to make sure that both your vision and your eye health needs are taken into account: There are no “assembly line” or cookie cutter solutions. Each patient is unique with unique needs.
Linda R. has been our front office assistant for seven years. Her hobbies include gardening and singing. She has two daughters and a really, really cute grandaughter.
Debbie is our ever-smiling optician. She has fourteen year’s experience in the optometric field, and works at our offices in the mornings. She completed formal training as an Optical Technician at the San Diego College of Medical and Dental Assistants. Debbie’s pastimes include her family, coaching girl’s basketball, and teaching at her church.
Diane, our newest member, exudes enthusiasm and charm. A native of California, Diane has an advanced college degree in public health. She is now training to cover multiple office tasks, between front desk and dispensary duties.
Belinda is our afternoon optician, has years of experience as an optician. She has an American Board of Opticians certification. [we could use more info here]
